Ingredients
- 6 pounds chicken wings
- 1/4 cup Olive This! Ultra Premium Olive Oil to coat
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Sauce
- 1 cup Holy Smoke Hickory Smoked Carolina Honey
- 1/4 cup Olive This! Jalapeno White Balsamic Vinegar
- up to 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl pour the olive oil over the chicken wings to coat the wings. Add salt and pepper to taste. Place on a sheet pan or ideally on a rack over a sheet pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes. By placing the wings on the rack air can circulate around the wing to create a crispier wing. In addition, we also set our oven to convection bake which also helps crisp the skin.
While the chicken wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl mix the smoked honey, Jalapeno Balsamic Vinegar and crushed red pepper together. Smoked honey is a unique product from South Carolina sold at Olive This!. Since the Jalapeno Balsamic Vinegar mostly provides a natural sweet and sour flavor, we added the crushed pepper flakes to provide the spicy kick. After mixing the ingredients together allow it to sit so that the red pepper flakes can macerate while the wings finish baking.
Once the wings are finished put them in a big bowl and coat with the smoked honey mixture and serve. Enjoy!
