Here’s a great, no kneading bread recipe. It is similar to Irish Soda Bread recipes, but better. Are you wanting to make a savory bread but still intimidated by using yeast? If so this recipe is a good substitute. The beer along with the baking powder and salt makes the bread rise without any kneading or resting. We’ve of course boosted the flavor by adding Tuscan Herb Olive Oil to the bread. The result is a delicious, savory bread with a crunchy crust.
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour (sifted)
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 12-ounce can beer, room temperature
- 1/4 cup Olive This! Tuscan Herb Olive Oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Either sift or lightly spoon the flour into the measuring cup while measuring it out. This will ensure your bread will be light and not a hard hockey brick. Then mix all dry ingredients together.
Stir in the room temperature beer and 1/4 cup olive oil. I used a lager, but a pale ale or really any type of beer would work. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake 1 hour. Remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
Enjoy!
