Here’s an appetizer or dessert that can’t get any easier and you can make it ahead and drizzle the balsamic at the table. You may have seen these refreshing treats served like this before but some recipes call for reducing the balsamic on the stovetop to thicken it. High quality balsamics are already thick and let’s face it, you can use just about any flavor here – from fruity to savory. Put all the bottles in the middle of the table and let your guests choose!
INGREDIENTS
- Watermelon
- Olive This! Strawberry Balsamic or Olive This! Red Apple Balsamic, about 1 teaspoon per cube (or chose your favorite dark balsamic)
- Mint leaves
DIRECTIONS
Cut watermelon into 2-inch square cubes. You could get creative and do triangles or circles too!
Using a melon baller, make well in the center of the cube.
Drizzle your favorite dark balsamic into each cube (or serve the cubes empty and let your guests do it at the table).
Garnish the watermelon cubes with a mint leaf and serve.
